From the Forum – Issue #151

Forum iconWelcome to this week’s From the Forum. In this post, we highlight a few Corona Community Forums posts that cover important topics.

It’s a blitz!

A fun challenge is to give yourself a short window of time and see what you can create in that brief period. When you share that challenge with other developers in the same timespan, you create a “game jam” or “game blitz.” One Corona developer would love to plan one, so jump over to this thread and let him know if you’re interested!

Object state tracking

Your game objects can have multiple attributes, from a number of health points to its current angle of rotation. Keeping track of that information and reacting to it is a common task for developers to solve. In this thread, forum superstar Dave Bollinger provides some great answers.

Connecting node graphs

It’s pretty easy to place a few objects on the screen and draw lines between them, but what if those objects are moving and you want the connecting lines to stay in sync? In this thread, see how @roaminggamer solved the problem.
