1. Don’t stop the jams

Keeping the vibe rolling when trying to squash aliens or collate menu items in our games and apps is essential. If your users are bobbing their heads to their own music you don’t want to ruin their good time by cutting off their tunes and starting your background music.

If they want to play their own music, more power to ’em! So in the interest of not killing the mood, the below forum post highlights some code snippets that allow external audio to not be suspended when a Corona-built app is initialized. It makes a much better user experience when you give the user the ability to chose what they listen to and when, so hand them the reins this time, and you might be surprised by the reaction!

2. Stole the best headline!

The title of the forum thread tells the tale! One very altruistic Corona developer has created a very useful easing transition, common in use with the major mobile device OSes, which replicates a “spring” motion.

The developer himself has done an excellent job describing his work and formatting his post, so I’m going to leave it at that and suggest you do yourself a favor and check out the code ASAP!

3. New plugins for the masses

I really like having the opportunity to let folks know about the great stuff that other Corona developers are talking about in the forum. And I LOVE being able to shout the latest cool stuff from the mountain tops, and then get out of the way so I don’t get run over in the stampede to the original post. This time it’s the latter.

Corona developer Christopher Bishop is going to be releasing a really cool UI plugin suite for the benefit of the entire Corona developer base. It’s a great library, so keep an eye on the below forum thread so that you are in the know for when it gets released. And don’t forget to say thanks!
